Sheriff: Kan. woman was driving with drugs, open container and kids

BROWN COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.

Just before 8 pm Nov. 16, a sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 75  near 160th Road for a tag light violation, according to Sheriff John Merchant.

Upon completion of the traffic stop,  the driver identified as 36-year-old Cynthia Flores of Hiawatha, was arrested on requested charges of DUI, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Transporting an Open Container, Obstruction  and 2 counts ofAggravated Child Endangerment. 

Two  children under the age of 18 were present in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. Flores was released from jail the following afternoon after meeting the requirements of a $2500 OR Bond, according to Merchant.
