Suspect arrested for death of 51-year-old Kansas man

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating fatal  shooting of 51-year-old Bradley Bellinder at a home in Topeka arrested a suspect identified as Marshall Stewart IV, 38 of Topeka, according to Lt. Kelvin Johnson.

Just after 10p.m. June 24, police responded to a home in the 1200 Block of NW Polk in Topeka after the Shawnee County Emergency Communication Center received a call for service on the report of an unknown medical issue, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

On arrival, officers were advised of an adult victim later identified as Bellinder suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers located  the victim who appeared to have a gunshot wound and he was  later pronounced deceased, at the scene. 

On Sunday police located Stewart, took him into custody and later booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Second Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The police department homicide unit continues reviewing all investigative leads.  They have not reported an arrest.
