Police: Car theft suspect rammed Kan. Capitol Police vehicle

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities continue searching for suspects in connection with a vehicle theft and chase.

Just before 2p.m. Sunday, police were requested to assist Capitol Police with a stolen vehicle investigation at 900 SW Tyler in Topeka, according to Lt. Michael Hren.

During this investigation the suspect intentionally rammed the Capitol Police patrol car and that initiated a vehicle pursuit.  The suspect eventually collided with another car at 17th and Fairlawn and continued south on Fairlawn.

Officers lost sight of the vehicle and eventually located it in the 6100 block of SW 26th CT, according to Hren.

Attempts to locate the suspects were unsuccessful . No injuries were reported at this time from the accident at 17th and Fairlawn, according to Hren.
