MANHATTAN —Authorities evacuated a grocery store in Manhattan Friday due to a fire.
Just before 9:30 a.m., fire crews were w dispatched to the Dillions grocery store, 130 Sarber Lane in Manhattan, for a report of a possible structure fire, according to Ryan Almes, Deputy Chief.
Upon arrival, crews found light smoke throughout the building. Crews evacuated the building and found a small fire located in the HVAC ductwork that was extinguished within 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported and the store was still closed at the time the fire department cleared the scene.
Loss is estimated at $5000 to the structure with unknown loss to contents. The fire cause was accidental due to welding being performed on ductwork that ignited the lining of the duct, according to Almes.
