Sheriff: 4 Kansans jailed for meth in 3 Saturday traffic stops

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities were busy with drug arrests in northeast Kansas on Saturday.

Just before 1 a.m. a sheriff's deputy stopped a 2005 Nissan Altima near 150th and U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

Deputies arrested the driver of the vehicle, Tiffany Michelle Thompson, 42, of Topeka, on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hallucinogenic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, transporting an open container and driving while suspended.

The passenger, Dwan Maurice Taylor Sr., 41, of Topeka, was arrested on requested charges that include felony interference with law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 Just after 3:30a.m.,  a sheriff's deputy stopped a 2010 GMC Terrain for a traffic infraction near 150th and U.S. Highway 75, according to Morse.

The deputy arrested the driver, 31-year-old Arturo Garcia-Silva, of Kansas City, Kansas, on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and driving while suspended.

At 10 p.m., . A deputy conducted a traffic stop on an Infiniti G near 150th and Q. Road for a traffic infraction, according to Morse.  Following a search, the passenger, Janet Sue Huhs, 60, of Topeka, was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
