
KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement are investigating a series of homicides on a deadly Sunday evening in Kansas City, Missouri.
just before 6:30pm officers were dispatched to 110th Terrace and Greenwood on a sound of gunshots call. While officers were on the way to the call it was updated to a shooting call. On arrival officers were advised by people at the scene that a shooting victim, a juvenile male in his teens, had been driven from the scene by private vehicle prior to officers arrival.
Moments later officers were notified that a shooting victim arrived in a private vehicle at a nearby fire station. That victim was treated by EMS at the fire station and ultimately transported to the hospital. At the hospital the victim was declared deceased from his injuries.
Preliminary information from people who were at the scene when officers arrived is that there were multiple people in the area of 110th and Greenwood when an exchange of gunfire was observed between those people and the victim was struck.
Just after 7p.m. Sunday police were dispatched to the area of the 7200 block of E 85th Terrace in Kansas City, Missouri on a sound of shots call, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.

On arrival officers began canvassing for any indication of shots being fired. A short time later officers were notified that a shooting victim arrived at a hospital by private vehicle. Indications were that victim had been shot in front of a residence at the location in the 7200 block of E 85th Terrace.
That victim, a juvenile teen male, was declared deceased at the hospital. Preliminary indication is the victim was in front of the residence when one or more suspects fired shots striking the boy. He was then driven to the hospital by private vehicle. This case is being investigated as a homicide, and there are no suspects in custody at this time.
Just before 9:30pm police were dispatched to a sound of shots call near 97th and Holmes, according to Becchina.
While officers were on the way to the area, the call was upgraded to a shooting call involving a male shooting victim down in front of a residence.
On arrival officers located the shooting victim, unresponsive in front of a residence in the 9700 Block of Holmes. Officers called for EMS who responded for treatment. EMS declared the victim deceased there at the scene.
Preliminary indication is that the victim was at the location when he had an interaction with another subject. That interaction resulted in shots being fired and the victim struck. The suspect then left the scene prior to officers arrival. This case is being investigated as a homicide and there are not any suspects in custody at this time.
There is no indication of any relation between the crimes that occurred Sunday evening, according to Becchina.
"Although uncommon, multiple homicide scenes are not unprecedented and there are contingencies in place for additional resources to be called upon to ensure thorough investigations and crime scene processing in such cases. Those contingencies were called into effect tonight to ensure enough investigators were in place at all 3 scenes."
