Two Kan. brothers jailed after knife attack at ex-girlfriend's home

DOUGLAS COUNTY —Two brothers involved in a stabbing on Friday morning in Lawrence are in custody.

The attack occurred about 10a.m in the 1900 block of East 19th Street, according to a media release. The victim was in serious condition when paramedics transported him to an area trauma center.

Evidence shows one of the brothers sent a threatening message to an ex-girlfriend stating they were coming to her home to harm her other “ex”, who was there. Investigators found they did just that – and when the four met, a fight started. The man who was visiting was stabbed. The brothers fled.

Officers safely arrested one of the brothers at his home and, after a short search, were able to take the other into custody.

The victim is expected to recover. Police did not release names of the suspects. Police detective are working to submit an affidavit to the District Attorney’s Office detailing what led up to the violence.
