Wayne Richard Fischer

Wayne Richard Fischer, 50, died Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born August 6, 1970 in WaKeeney, KS to Larry “Rich” and Gloria (Hagan) Fischer. 

He is survived by his mother Gloria Adkins, Junction City; a sister Michelle Callahan; nieces Krista and Jennifer Kingery, Jennifer and Rachael Callahan, nephew Robert Kingery, Jr.; uncles-Henry, Donald, John, Dean, Dahna Jr., Rodger, and Gary Fischer, Greg, and Corky Hagan; aunts-Beulah (Fischer) McElroy, Bernadine (Fischer) Linden, Elizabeth (Fischer) Weber, Connie (Hagan) Hinds, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.

Wayne was fortunate for many years to live and be cared for by his aunt Connie Hinds and cousin Doug Wilkerson. Wayne worked as a housekeeping aide for nursing homes earlier in life. He enjoyed racing his remote-controlled cars, riding his bike, going for walks, to the movies with his mother and was always ready to go fishing. He loved animals, country music and spending time with his family and friends, especially if it involved food. Wayne was always willing to help with household chores and loved being responsible for making the morning coffee. 

He was preceded in death by his Father, Larry Fischer, who died in an auto accident April 22, 1989; his sisters Cynthia Kingery and Melissa Trent; grandparents Dahna and Mathilda Fischer and Virgil and Velma Hagan; uncle David Fischer and aunt Margaret Fischer.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 1:00 at St. John Lutheran Church, 394 St. John-St. Andrew Rd. in Ellis, with Pastor Kim Frederking officiating. Burial will be held immediately following the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
