ATCHISON COUNTY —Wreckage from the Monday train derailment has been removed from the main tracks and trains are moving again in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
At 10p.m. Tuesday, the 4th Street crossing in Atchison was reopened.
The cause that derailed approximately seven Union Pacific rail cars and one locomotive is still under investigation. The train crew was taken to local emergency services for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. according to Union Pacific. There was no fire and no other hazards, according to Wilson.
