KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City.
Just after 2a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 3700 block of St. John Avenue on a reported shooting, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Upon arrival, no shooting victims were immediately located at the scene. While officers were speaking with bystanders in the area, they were notified a shooting victim arrived by a private vehicle at an area hospital. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Further investigation revealed the incident may have occurred at a separate location near Sunrise Drive and Cliff Drive Place.
Just after 6a.m. detectives were notified by hospital staff the victim had been pronounced deceased. There is currently no preliminary information regarding what lead up to the shooting. A subject of interest has not been identified and no one is in custody at this time.Homicide detectives have assumed responsibility for the case. Police have not released the victim's name or additional details.
