KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating a fatal hit-and-run have located the vehicle involved and took a subject of interest has been taken into custody for questioning, according to KCPD OOfficer Alayna Gonzalez.
Just after 6:30p.m. Dec. 10, a vehicle described as a 2009-12 Nissan Altima driving Northbound on Troost Avenue on the outside lane struck a pedestrian later identified as 46-year-old Phillip Castleberry who was crossing Troost Avenue at 82nd Terrace.
The vehicle left the scene in an unknown direction. EMS transported Castleberry to a local hospital with life threatening injuries, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino. He died nine days later.
