
SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas man accused in a fatal September shooting made a first court appearance this week.
Michael Austin, Jr., 38, Wichita, was charged with 2nd degree murder, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

Amyion Mcdowell-Mitchell, 18, died in that shooting that occurred following an argument during a party at a home in the 5000 block of Osie in Wichita, according to Wichita Police. Security camera images showed a suspect running from the scene of the crime.
Austin remains in custody on a $250,000 bond. He is due back in court March 13, according to the district attorney's office.
