SEDGWICK COUNTY —The Wichita Police Department’s Exploited and Missing Children's Unit conducted a thorough investigation following a report of an alleged sexual assault and abduction involving a 14-year-old juvenile. After careful follow-up, it has been determined that the reported incident did not occur, according to Office Kris Gupilan.
"Police understand the concern and emotional impact reports of this nature can have on our community. The well-being of every individual, especially our youth, remains our highest priority. Our Victim Advocate Unit is actively working with the juvenile to provide the support and resources necessary during this time."

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating an incident involving the abduction and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. The incident occurred just before 10p.m. Monday in the area of 19th and Grove in Wichita, according to Officer Kris Gupilan.
Detectives from the Exploited Missing Children’s Unit responded Monday night and immediately began investigating the case and continued investigating throughout Tuesday.
At this time, police are following up in the area where the incident occurred, contacting witnesses, and checking for security camera video.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital.
