JOHNSON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 11 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Nissan Rogue driven by Naol Gemeda, 31, Olathe, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 169 just north of 183rd Street. The SUV and a southbound 2017 Ford 150 driven by Geoffery Rodden, 48, Spring Hill collided.
Gemeda was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported Rodden to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Rodden was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
