JEFFERSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 10:30p.m. Friday in Jefferson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1998 Chevy S-10 driven by Morgan M. Kabler, 21, Lawrence, was southbound on K237 a mile south of SW 46th Street.
The passenger side tires dropped off the roadway. The driver overcorrected back onto roadway and the vehicle rolled into the west ditch.
A passenger Robert W. Ellis, 66, Topeka, was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Barnett Family Funeral Home. EMS transported Kabler to Stormont Vail in Topeka. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
