KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating a woman on multiple allegations after a high-speed chase with a stolen car.
Just after 5a.m. Friday, sheriff's deputies were notified of a stolen vehicle in Harrisonville, according to a media release from the Cass County Sheriff. Deputies located the vehicle traveling northbound on Interstate 49 near 163rd Street in Belton.
When deputies activated their emergency lights and siren to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated and attempted to flee. Less than a minute later, the vehicle struck a concrete divider near the 155th Street exit in Belton and the driver was placed into custody.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Candida Delaney of Kansas City, Missouri.
Delaney has a warrant from the Claycomo Police Department and four warrants from the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. Charges from this incident are still pending while she’s in custody. The Belton Missouri Police Department assisted with this pursuit.
