MANHATTAN — Authorities are working to determine the cause of an apartment fire in Manhattan.

Just before 2:30p.m. on Monday, fire crews were dispatched to 1300 Marlatt Avenue Apartment #501 in Manhattan for a report of a fire, according Deputy Fire Chief Ryan Almes.

Upon arrival, crews found a two-story apartment building with a fire on the first floor. The residents were not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The building is a two-story, eight-unit apartment building. Loss is estimated at $15,000 to contents and $25,000 to the structure, according to Almes. The two residents of the fire apartment were displaced.
