SEDGWICK COUNTY —A man accused in the deadly April shooting outside a Kansas nightclub made his first court appearance in the case Friday.
Brent Cruz, 35, is charged with 2nd degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.
Just before 1:30 a.m. April 24, police responded to a shooting call in the 1300 block of North Hydraulic in Wichita, according to Officer Chad Ditch.
First responders located d 31-year old Nyron Bowen of Wichita on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Bowen would be transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Cuz is scheduled for another court appearance August 8. He is being held on a $500,000, according to the district attorney's office.
