SALINE COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 7a.m. Monday in Saline County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1992 Chevy van driven by Bennett Bernard Kinkelaar, 62, Wichita, was northbound at 12,000 S Gypsum Valley Road seven miles south of Gypsum.
The van left the roadway to the right, entered the field and struck a tree. After impact the vehicle traveled several hundred yards until coming to rest on it wheels.
Kinkelaar was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Ryan Mortuary. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
