FORD COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a student for an alleged threat in Dodge City.
Late Thursday, USD 443/Dodge City public school officials and the Dodge City Police School Resource Officer Unit received information regarding a threat to Dodge City High School, according to a media release from police.
The police school resource officer and school officials worked as a team very late into the night on this situation and on Friday morning determined who made the alleged threat.
Officers arrested the juvenile boy. He is a current student of Dodge City High School, according to police. There were no injured.
Police do not believe there is any additional threat to the high school. However, police do have an additional officer at the high school Friday.
Police will present the case to the Ford County Attorney's Office on a requested charge of felony Criminal Threat.
