
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect for alleged child sex crimes.
Just before 6a.m. on Monday at police were dispatched to a report of a sexual assault of a minor that occurred in the 1500 block of South Kansas, according to a media release.
The investigation revealed that the minor was waiting for the school bus when they were approached by a 31-year-old male suspect, not known to her. The suspect, identified according to Sedgwick County booking records as Gonzalo Ramirez, lured the minor into a vehicle and committed the assault.
Officers quickly located Ramirez who was taken into custody and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail.

The Wichita Police Department reminds parents and guardians to:
- Speak with their children about the dangers of speaking with strangers or entering vehicles with unknown individuals.
- Encourage children to immediately notify a trusted adult and call 911 if they feel unsafe or encounter a similar situation.
