Police: Kansas sex offender accused of multiple crimes

RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a registered sex offender on multiple charges after a weekend arrest.

On October 7, police arrested Cedrick Wilson, 41, of Manhattan for aggravated burglary, possession of an opiate, lewd and lascivious behavior, and violation of offender registration, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

The aggravated burglary charge stems from an October 6, 2022, incident when it was reported Wilson entered a 29-year-old woman's residence in the 2000 block of Hayes Drive and exposed himself in front of her.

The lewd and lascivious behavior charge stems from an October 2, 2022, incident. when it was reported Wilson masturbated inside the Bourbon and Baker restaurant, 312 Poyntz in Manhattan.

The possession of an opiate charge stems from Wilson being found in possession of an opiate during his arrest on October 7.

The violation of offender registration charge comes from the incidents at the restaurant and at the woman's residence.  They are violations of his offender registration, according to the RCPD.

Wilson has a 1997 conviction for rape and indecent exposure in Oklahoma involving a 16-year-old victiim, according to the sex offender registry.

Wison remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $60,000.
