Police ID 2 who died after small plane crash near Lake of the Ozarks

CAMDEN COUNTY—Two of three people injured in a small plane crash Thursday died from their injuries.

The crash occurred just after noon Thursday in a rural area near Osage Beach, Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Hayden Ritchhart, 22, Carrollton, Missouri and Evan R. Vandiver, 19, Richmond, Missouri., died in the crash, according to Osage Beach Police.

EMS transported Gary Vandiver, 54, of Richmond, Missouri to an area hospital.

 The aircraft had just taken off from Lee C. Fine airport and was later located in the treeline at the old golf course between RT. KK and US 54, according to the patrol. 

The FAA has been notified and will be conducting the crash investigation. 

 Ritchhart was believed to be piloting the aircraft, according to police.

Authorities released no additional details.
