Police find raw marijuana, candy during Kan. traffic stop

Saline County —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on multiple drug charges after a  traffic stop on Interstate 70 in Salina Tuesday.

Just before 7:30a.m., an officer stopped a 2014 Nissan Altima that was eastbound I-70 milepost at Ohio Street in Salina, according to Police Captain Paul Forrester.

The officer made contact with the driver later identified as Tyler Walton, 22, of Georgia.

During the traffic stop, the Salina Police Department's K-9, Bennie, indicated the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police reported finding approximately two pounds of raw marijuana, marijuana oils, and marijuana candy.

Police arrested Walton on requested charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp.
