SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that left two people with non-life threatening injuries.

Just after 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 2400 block of SW Buchanan Street in Topeka after a caller stated they had been shot at, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

The caller left the scene prior to officer’s arrival. A short time later, two people arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle. Both had non-life threatening injuries believed to be consistent with the earlier shooting.

While investigating the shooting, officers located a 20-year-old later identified as Tyzale J. Banks-Hall, 20 of Topeka who was in possession of a stolen firearm.

After further investigation, police arrested Banks-Hall and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Possession of stolen Firearm with value less than $25,000.
