KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident just after 4a.m. Thursday in Kansas City.
A black BMW 535I was northbound on Hardesty at Winner in Kansas City at a very high rate of speed, according to Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
In the area of Winner Road, the BMW crossed the double yellow line and traveled northbound in the southbound lanes of Hardesty. The BMW struck a concrete traffic median, a metal traffic signal pole and continued northbound across Winner Road.
The BMW traveled up a grassy hill and launched across a private driveway, striking a building before coming to rest.
The driver of the BMW was pronounced deceased at the scene. The front seat passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The passenger is currently in stable condition and the investigation is ongoing.
