LYON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged sex crime and asking the public for help to identify a suspect.
Just before 3p.m. Monday, Sheriff's Deputies responded to report of an alleged sexual assault in the 300 block of Seventh Street, in the Lyon County community of Americus, according to Detective Eric Williams.
A 14-year-old girl in the home reported that she was raped. The girl was home alone at the time of the assault and stated that an unknown man entered the home through the unlocked back door.
She described the suspect as a middle-aged Hispanic male. The girl told investigators she had seen a suspicious man driving a white/silver passenger car while walking just prior to the assault. The girl was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and treatment.
