Suspect arrested after 6 hour standoff at Kansas home

BUTLER COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a standoff at a home in Butler County.

Just afater 6a.m. Wednesday, officers were contacted at the Rose Hill Police Department regarding a Domestic Violence incident that just occurred in the 1600 block of north Main  Street in Rose Hill, according to a media release.

The parties involved were separated and the victim was safe at the Rose Hill Police Department. The alleged suspect refused to answer the door at the residence to speak with law enforcement. It was believed the suspect was intoxicated and possibly armed with a handgun. An arrest warrant was issued, and the Butler County Tactical Response Team was called in for assistance in gaining entry to the residence.

Just after 12:35p.m., police made a peaceful arrest and the suspect was transported to the Butler County Jail on requested charges of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Felony Criminal Damage to Property and Battery Domestic Violence. Police did not release the name of the suspect.
