KANSAS CITY —One person died in an RV fire in Kansas City on Thursday.
Just after 4p.m. Thursday, Kansas Fire Department crews responded to a reported car fire in the 700 block of Lewis in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
On arrival crews reported an RV on fire in the the driveway next to a single-story occupied home with minor extension in to the home. The first arriving company upgraded the call to a house fire due to the extension.
Companies began interior operations on both the RV and the house. Upon entry into the RV, a woman in her mid 50s was discovered and removed. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A second victim, a man in his mid to late 50s was discovered in the rear of the RV. He was pronounced deceased, according to Hopkins.
Due to the significant injury and fatality, Bomb and Arson has been requested and will conduct the investigation.
