Wanted Kansas felon remains jailed after encounter with deputy

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a Kansas felon on new drug allegations after an encounter with a deputy sheriff.

Just after 8p.m. June 29,  a sheriff's deputy made contact with a man in the 200 block of NE Norris Street in rural Shawnee County, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the encounter, it was discovered that the individual, identified as 37-year-old Daniel S. Brewer of Topeka had a warrant for his arrest. The deputy also found illegal narcotics.

The deputy arrested Brewer booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections (SNDOC) on the requested charges of Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant and Use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body

Brewer had a parole violation hold for the Kansas Department of Corrections. He has previous convictions for burglary, theft and drugs according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
