KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating a Monday homicide in Kansas City have identified the victim as 18-year-old Amauri Holland-Williams, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
Just after 7:30p.m. January 20, police were dispatched to 56th and Westridge in Kansas City on a reported shooting, according to DiMartino.
Upon arrival they were directed to a residence near the intersection. In the yard they located Holland-Williams suffering from gunshot wounds. Several witnesses were rendering aid to him as officers arrived.
Officers took over life saving measures and ordered EMS. EMS transported him from the scene with life threatening injuries. Several hours later he died at the hospital, according to DiMartion.
This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody. Detectives and crime scene personnel are working to determine what led up to the incident.
