KANSAS CITY—One person died in a fire Tuesday in Kansas City.
Just after 3p.m. crews responded to a fire at a home in the 5500 Block of Hardesty Avenue, according to a media release.
A man outside the house said his grandmother had gone back inside to get her dog, according to a fire department news release.
Firefighters found the woman and were able to lift her through a window. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined the cause of the fire was electrical. The woman's name has not been released.
