ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged burglary.
At 5a.m. Sunday, officers were called to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 500 block Park Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
A 65 -year-old victim reported he was awakened when a subject had unlawfully entered his residence and was taking some food.
The suspect later identified as 50-year-old Mark Walker of Atchison fled the residence when confronted by the resident.
A police officer responding to the scene spotted Walker at 5th and Park and he was taken into custody. Walker is being held on requested charges aggravated burglary.
