SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple sex crime allegations.
On Wednesday, the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division served two search warrants in response to a report that had been filed regarding sex crimes against a minor, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
Search warrants were served in the 6700 Block of SW Windwood Lane and the 8100 Block of Meadow Lane in Mayetta, Kansas. Deputies arrested 53-year-old Anthony S. Whayne Jr. of Mayetta and booked him into the Shawnee County Dept. of Corrections on requested charges of rape, abuse of a child, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated indecent solicitation of a child.
