ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect for setting a fire to a building with a man asleep inside.

Just after 6a.m. Friday, police and fire crews responded to a fire in a commercial build at 1621 South Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

The cause of the fire was determined to be the result of an arson. Just before 12:30p.m. Friday, police arrested 50-year-old Angela J. Dugger Atchison, on requested charges of aggravated arson.

The requested charge is aggravated arson because a sixty year old man was asleep inside the build when the fire was set. He was not injured.  Dugger and the victim had previously dated, according to Wilson.    The victim had a living space in the building and often stated there.
