
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a traffic stop.
Just after 2:30a.m. September 27, a K-9 Unit with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2009 Nissan Titan for speeding in the 3000 block of South Kansas Avenue, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
During the investigation, the driver, later identified as Raul I. J. Galvan-Romero, 40, of Topeka appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and illegal narcotics were located.
Deputies arrested Galvan-Romero and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on the requested charges Possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant, Driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, Speeding and Transporting an open container of liquor.
