RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a scam that cost a woman hundreds of dollars.
Just before 11:30a.m. Wednesday, officers filed a report of theft in the 3400 block of Chimney Rock Road, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.
A 27-year-old woman reported an unknown suspect sent emails and text messages posing as the victim's boss asking her to purchase gift cards and send pictures of the gift cards.
Total loss associated with this report is $1,200.
