
SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have two suspects in custody.
During the nighttime hours of Thursday, multiple thefts from motor vehicles and a theft of a motor vehicle occurred at residences in the 6000 block of SW Pointe Drive in Shawnee County, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
The suspects took thousands of dollars’ worth of items including a 2014 Lincoln MKX SUV, cash, personal items and financial cards.
During the investigation, photos and videos were obtained from the neighborhood and local businesses where stolen financial cards were used. Officials positively identified two individuals.
On Tuesday, police arrested 25-year-old Aaron M. Griffith of Topeka in the 2400 block of SW Hillcrest Road. Griffith was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of conspiracy, identity theft, burglary to a vehicle, theft, criminal damage and criminal use of a financial charge.

Later that day, deputies arrested 27-year-old Halie N. Clinton of Topeka near SW 61st Street and SW Urish Road during a hit and run accident investigation.
Clinton had a warrant for her arrest. Clinton was later booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of conspiracy to commit burglary.
