The Kansas Highway Patrol is seeking assistance from the public to identify a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) involved in a fatality crash that occurred between midnight and 7a.m. on Monday.
The Patrol reported a 2017 Chevy Silverado driven by Aaron Bradley Patton, 26, Liberal, was eastbound on U.S. 54 just east of County Road 9. The pickup crossed over the fog line onto the eastbound shoulder and collided with a stopped commercial motor vehicle.

Patton was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Hornung Family Funeral Home.
The CMV left the collision scene prior to notification of the collision to law enforcement. The CMV is believed to be light-colored, possibly sliver or gray, and was transporting an oversized load that included a large steel cylinder.
If anyone has information regarding witnesses or the CMV involved in the crash, please contact Technical Trooper Clayton Tarpley, Troop E, at 620-276-3201.
