SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicide that occurred in central Salina.
On Sunday morning, law enforcement dispatch received a call about a shooting that occurred in a residence in the 200 block of S. 10th Street, according to a media release.
First responders located a 35-year-old Salina resident with a gunshot wound. EMS transported the victim to Salina Regional Health Center where he underwent surgery. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injury, according to the release.
The case is being investigated as a homicide. A person of interest is in custody. Salina Police detectives are being assisted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
