
ELK COUNTY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a rural Kansas house fire.
Just before 10p.m. Sunday, rural tankers from Longton, Moline and Howard responded to a house fire in Longton to assist Longton Fire Department with water support.

Engines from Moline and Howard Fire Department also responded to assist. Upon arrival heavy flames were visible. An interior attack was attempted but crews had to withdraw due to structural compromise and undertook a defensive position. The dwelling was a complete loss. There are no reports of injuries.
