
KANSAS CITY, Mo. —One person was injured in a fire Sunday in Kansas City.
Just after 10a.m. crews responded to a reported building fire in the 5200 block of St. John in Hopkins.

On arrival crews reported smoke from a two-story apartment building. Interior operations were initiated including searches of the structure. Crews found and rescued one occupant who was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital for significant smoke inhalation. The patient was in stable condition late Sunday, according to Hopkins.
Multiple handlines were used to get the fire under control. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
