MCPHERSON COUNTY —Two people died from injuries in an accident just before 8p.m. Thursday in McPherson County.
The McPherson County Sheriff reported a 2004 Toyota Corolla driven by Danny Lee Heath, 63, Hutchinson, was stopped at the stop sign on Arrowhead Road and pulled out onto Old Highway 81 in front of a pickup driven by Kaleb Bowen, 19, Moundridge. The pickup struck the car in the passenger side door. The passenger in the Toyota identified as Mariah Lyddane, 30, Hutchinson, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Moundridge Fire and EMS, according to the sheriff's office.
Danny Heath was extricated from the car, transported to McPherson Medical Center and later transferred to Wesley Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased at 5a.m. Friday, according to the sheriff's office. A private vehicle transported Bowen to a local hospital for evaluation and released. The sheriff's office released no additional details Friday afternoon.
