JACKSON COUNTY—A small plane made an emergency landing  Saturday on a highway in Jackson County.

Just after 8p.m., the sheriff's office received a report of a 1991 Bonanza V35 landing near 142nd Road and U.S Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The plane was traveling from Topeka to Omaha, lost its engine and was forced to make an emergency landing.

The aircraft was able to land without incident, nearly striking an overhead power line, according to Morse.

All four occupants were uninjured, according to Morse. Traffic was reduced to one northbound lane during the incident except for a short time when both lanes were closed so the plane could be removed from the highway.  By 9:35p.m., all northbound lanes were back open, according to Morse.
