Kan. pilot avoids injury after small plane runs out of fuel

HARVEY COUNTY —A Kansas man avoided injury just after 10:30a.m. Saturday while flying in Harvey County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Fisher Classic piloted by David Brett Hansen, 55, Wichita, was flying in the  1500 block of North Woodlawn just east of Newton Airport.

The airplane ran out fuel and landed in a field just short of Newton Airport. There were no injuries.
