Police working to ID Kan. counterfeit cash suspect

SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged use of counterfeit cash in Salina.

Just after 8:30 p.m. March 25, a man entered Dollar General, 2000 S. Ninth Street B in Salina, and purchased several items. He paid with a $100 bill and received over $80 in change, according to a media release from CrimeStoppers.

The man then went to Gambino’s Pizza, 2000 S. 9th in Salina and ordered a pizza. He paid with a $100 bill and received over $75 back in change. He went and sat in a dark-colored SUV but left the area before the pizza was ready.

It was later discovered both bills were counterfeit and had the same serial number.
