SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that fatally injured 21-year-old Gabriel Njoroge of Wichita.
Just after 5p.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting call at the apartments in the 700 block of North Broadway in Wichita, according to Office Charley Davidson.
Upon arrival, officers located Njorogea who had been shot. He was pronounced deceased on the scene. Also contacted was a 70-year-old man believed to be involved.
The investigation revealed a disturbance occurred between the 70-year-old man and Njoroge outside of the apartments. During the disturbance, Njoroge threatened the man and came towards him armed with a box knife. Being in fear for his safety, the 70-year-old shot Njoroge, according to Davidson. Police released no additional details and did not report an arrest.
