Kansas woman left man to die of burns during burglary

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas woman accused in connection with a man's death in 2025 was in court for an arraignment hearing on Tuesday in the courtroom of Judge Christopher Magana, according to the Sedgwick County District attorney's office.

Molly Hubbard, 36, Wichita, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated criminal damage to property, according to the district attorney's office. 

The charges are in connection to the death during a burglary.

Just after 5 a.m. on July 17, 2025, police responded to a vacant building at Harry and South Governeur Road in Wichita, where they found 39-year-old Ryan Crawford suffering from electrical burns.  EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Hubbard and Crawford, according to prosecutors, were stealing copper in the building when Crawford was burned. According to police Hubbard left him to die.

She is scheduled for sentencing September 23, according to the district attorney's office.
