SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal shooting and have identified the victim as 22-year-old Jacob Kalese of Wichita.
Just before 1a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a home in the 2400 Block of North Sunny Lane in Wichita, according to Captain Jason Stephens. In the backyard of that location, police located Kalese with several gunshot wounds. EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators learned there was a small gathering of people at that location. An individual arrived at the home and fired multiple gunshots at the victim, according to Stephens. At this time, police believe the suspect is known to the victim or others who were at the gathering. Kalese did not live at the residence but was there with his girlfriend.
