
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A former Kansas police chief accused of stalking and violating a protective order was convicted Wednesday morning in Reno County District Court.
In April of 2019, former Bushton Police Chief Brian Treaster was booked into Reno County Correctional Facility in connection with a stalking incident. In June of 2019 he was charged with battery of the same victim.
After a two-day trial, a jury deliberated just 90 minutes before finding Treaster guilty of felony stalking, felony criminal threat, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor violation of a PFA. His sentencing is set for June 4.
